Then answer for people on the go’s internet surfing needs has been born; the Vodafone Mobile Broadband Dongle. This is quite a fascinating contraption as it is small, stylish and lightweight; technology has been able to break through the conventional modems and routers which we have grown accustomed to. It can be used even by people with very little technical know how can take one home and start using it.

Installation is not an issue as the Vodafone dongle is equipped with a self-extracting installation software as part of its simple plug and play feature. As soon as one plugs the dongle in to the laptop or desktop’s USB port, the prompts to follow to complete the installation is as easy as 1, 2, and 3. So, regardless if one is in between locations and needs to check or send email, research on something or just stuck somewhere and needs to pass the time, one can easily go online.

There are several providers in the market which offer broadband connections; most of them are also mobile phone service providers. The major reason for this is simply because the USB dongle functions by means of equipping it with a network provider’s SIM card. One of the leading providers is Vodafone Broadband; as this is a well known service provider, they do not allow their reputation to fall behind. This provider offers both the top-up and go or pay as you go plans as well as monthly plans where the subscribers have the flexibility to choose which one would best appeal to their internet needs.

Their pre paid or pay as you go offers allow a subscriber to purchase the USB dongle and data top-ups without the commitment of a lock-in period. They can use or bank their credits up to a certain period before it expires. They get the same experience with the flexibility of managing their consumption. However, for the post paid or monthly offers, a subscriber is signed-up to a 12 to 24 month contract to use the service; this is not a bad idea especially if one intends to use the service for a long period of time. The monthly offers are also flexible and have varied deals a subscriber can choose from; they offer data allowance plan for as little as 1 GB to unlimited usage per month. They also offer good valued deals for one-month rolling packages as well as overseas usage via roaming.

As an added feature, the Vodafone dongles are not only meant as USB broadband modems, it can also be used as a storage device as the dongles are equipped with a Micro SD slot which one can use. This is a rather useful feature as most people tend to bring a number of flash drives for their storage needs and end up with all their USB ports fitted with other storage devices; and now, they can have the best of both worlds.

Vodafone Broadband promotes the fastest headline speeds, using the High-Speed Downlink Packet Access or the HSDPA network; its approximation speed is up to 7.2 MB.  However, should one be staying in an area which has limited HSDPA coverage, they are then reverted to the General Packet Radio Service or the GPRS network; though this may be a bit slower than the HSDPA.
