Then answer for people on the go’s internet surfing needs has been born; the Vodafone Mobile Broadband Dongle. This is quite a fascinating contraption as it is small, stylish and lightweight; technology has been able to break through the conventional modems and routers which we have grown accustomed to. It can be used even by people with very little technical know how can take one home and start using it.

Installation is not an issue as the Vodafone dongle is equipped with a self-extracting installation software as part of its simple plug and play feature. As soon as one plugs the dongle in to the laptop or desktop’s USB port, the prompts to follow to complete the installation is as easy as 1, 2, and 3. So, regardless if one is in between locations and needs to check or send email, research on something or just stuck somewhere and needs to pass the time, one can easily go online.

There are several providers in the market which offer broadband connections; most of them are also mobile phone service providers. The major reason for this is simply because the USB dongle functions by means of equipping it with a network provider’s SIM card. One of the leading providers is Vodafone Broadband; as this is a well known service provider, they do not allow their reputation to fall behind. This provider offers both the top-up and go or pay as you go plans as well as monthly plans where the subscribers have the flexibility to choose which one would best appeal to their internet needs.

Their pre paid or pay as you go offers allow a subscriber to purchase the USB dongle and data top-ups without the commitment of a lock-in period. They can use or bank their credits up to a certain period before it expires. They get the same experience with the flexibility of managing their consumption. However, for the post paid or monthly offers, a subscriber is signed-up to a 12 to 24 month contract to use the service; this is not a bad idea especially if one intends to use the service for a long period of time. The monthly offers are also flexible and have varied deals a subscriber can choose from; they offer data allowance plan for as little as 1 GB to unlimited usage per month. They also offer good valued deals for one-month rolling packages as well as overseas usage via roaming.

As an added feature, the Vodafone dongles are not only meant as USB broadband modems, it can also be used as a storage device as the dongles are equipped with a Micro SD slot which one can use. This is a rather useful feature as most people tend to bring a number of flash drives for their storage needs and end up with all their USB ports fitted with other storage devices; and now, they can have the best of both worlds.

Vodafone Broadband promotes the fastest headline speeds, using the High-Speed Downlink Packet Access or the HSDPA network; its approximation speed is up to 7.2 MB. However, should one be staying in an area which has limited HSDPA coverage, they are then reverted to the General Packet Radio Service or the GPRS network; though this may be a bit slower than the HSDPA.

The Orange USB Broadband Dongle is an essential tool especially for people on the go. It does not have any cables and need not be fixed on a specific place just to be able to gain access. One simply needs to have a functional orange service provider’s SIM card fixed on to the actual dongle and their all set.

While installation is a common concern among people using anything new with technology, this is not the case for the orange USB dongle. It has a plug and play feature which enables one to quit worrying as the software is automatically installed to immediately gain access.

There are a large number of service providers in the market which basically offers the same advantage; one of them are Orange Broadband Dongles. Orange has a reputation as one of the leading providers and offers great deals. The broadband dongle they have to offer advertises a speed rate of up to 3.6 MB depending on the area; the more congested the area, the weaker the signal strength; while the more open and available the area, the stronger and faster the speed will be. They also offer great deals to choose from, they have the range from 1 GB to 10 GB worth of download allowance limits. This is a good feature as once can be able to opt for particular data allowance plans which will best suit their surfing needs. However, there will always be a certain time when one would go over their limits for various reasons; for some, it may just be due to busy coordinating days, work or school related surfing needs, or for some, the busy rush of the holidays. Whatever the reason for going over one’s data allowance limits, Orange Broadband Dongles offer additional charges that are applied based on a per GB consumption.

It is fairly easy to determine how much GB one needs in a month for them to be able to determine which plan or deal would best fit their needs. To give an idea, 1 GB worth of download allowance will allow someone to send and receive up to 1,000 regular emails, or perhaps surf the internet for 10 hours, or download 32 music tracks or 5 videos with an average of 4 minutes each. 3 GB worth of downloadable allowance limit will give one access to send and receive up to 3,000 regular emails, or perhaps surf the internet for 30 hours, or download 96 music tracks or 15 videos with an average of 4 minutes each. Access to be able to send and receive up to 5,000 regular emails, or perhaps surf the internet for 50 hours, or download 160 music tracks or 25 videos with an average of 4 minutes each can be achieved with a 5 GB download allowance limit. And a whopping 10 GB data allowance limit will enable one to have access to send and receive up to 10,000 regular emails, or perhaps surf the internet for 100 hours, or download 320 music tracks or 50 videos with an average of 4 minutes each. It is important for one to know that there are also some internet applications which download software automatically to function properly, this is known to also take up some of the data allowance. The figures above are only meant as a guide and are only estimated, it is only meant to aid one in determining which deal would best fit them.

O2 began as a breakaway company in the year 2001 when it seceded from BT wireless. It then rapidly became one of the top companies in the United Kingdom for telephone, mobile phones, videogames, internet and other digital services. Moreover, O2 was a pioneer company in offering broadband services in the UK.

It is part of the superior Telefonica company that extends over the entire Europe. Telefonica bought the Be network in the year 2006 and it later expanded its boundaries to take in even Be network’s service area. This made Telefonica control one of the biggest access areas in the entire United Kingdom up to the present. Beginning 2007, Telefonica has more than 40 million clients and 18.4 million of these are customers of O2.

O2 provides one of the broadband services with the fastest connections in the UK at very satisfactory prices. At the present, O2 is concentrated on broadband service for mobile phones and other wireless devices. They are even giving away discounts and other promos to those who are using multiple O2 services like O2 mobile phones and broadband service subscription. It is very probable that the O2 broadband service will continue to mature and increase its popularity in the future because O2 is currently and probably will continue to be a highly-rated and reputable broadband company.

O2 broadband provides 8MB download speeds on the ADSL2 network; this network envelops more than half of all of UK, meaning that it is very easy to locate connection points. O2 is presently trying to convince O2 mobile phone clients to use broadband for their phones and other wireless devices. Apart from this however, O2 also has home broadband services. O2 has a fair use policy being implemented but overall, compared with other broadband service providers, O2 is more lenient. Individuals who use broadband heavily should consider O2 broadband since the initial set-up would include the installation and a wireless router all for free. You would also be allowed to send 100 text messages and 100 e-mails from your computer to your mobile phone for free. The minimum length of contract is one year, but you can cancel the first year of subscription if you notify your provider in advance with a 30 days notice.
The service level clients get from O2 broadband is among the best amount broadband providers. Aside from the 30-day trial period that has a money-back guarantee and the free installation and wireless router, there are numerous other items that are included for free in package deals and other offers. The support service for customers is outstanding as well. At any time of the day, you can get in touch with a customer service representative to assist you if you have any questions you need to ask. If you are calling because of a hardware problem, someone will be dispatched in a day or two to fix it for you. The broadband service of O2 is by and large, one of the best there is. If you happen to have an O2 mobile phone, then their broadband service is even better for you.

Broadband connections have become almost a necessity for people nowadays; in this fat paced era, it is a fact that people do not have the luxury of time or energy to seek out access ports when they need to send an email while they are in between their homes or their offices. This is why the USB broadband dongles have become a popular item amongst people who are always on the go. These dongles are compact and lightweight; they are to be equipped with a service provider SIM card for it to function and pick-up signal to connect.

Virgin Broadband has been developed by Virgin Media just for this purpose. It offers different deals and plans designed for different levels of usage. They offer either the pay as you go or prepaid subscriptions as well as post paid or monthly plan with varied data download limits. For monthly plans, the data limit ranges for as low as 1 GB and as much as 5 GB; and from 500 MB to 6 GB for the pay as you go offers. They also offer what they call BYO or Bring Your Own USB Broadband Dongles which a consumer will find beneficial as there will be less cost on their part. They will no longer need to purchase a new dongle and leave the one they already own to accumulate dust in a corner. The only condition is that the broadband dongle be compatible with the Virgin Broadband service; which is fairly easy to check.

The network coverage depends on the area one is in; one can be using the regular 3G or HSDPA (High-Speed Downlink Packet Access) and be able to access up to 1.8 MB speeds. However, when one is outside the covered area, the will only be able to use the GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) network which will provide slower speeds. When one has already maximized their usage of their download allowance, they may still continue using the service however, the speed will be limited to only 128 Kb per second for then next 250 MB of data used.

The actual broadband dongle has more features than just a modem; it has a provisional slot for a Micro SD card which one can use as a storage device while using the dongle. This is quite beneficial as one no longer needs to plug in multiple flash drives just for storage purposes; and instead just use one. Another feature is that it has a provision for an aerial socket; this is used to connect and external antenna to the dongle to gather stronger signal strength; though this is not a necessity for most, it is still quite a benefit especially if one is in an enclosed area with a lot of network signal obstructions. Using the USB Dongle is as easy as pie; there are no complicated installations required; the plug and play feature is very simple and efficient. One simply needs to plug the dongle in a USB socket on their laptops and the software will automatically install, as soon as that is done, one can begin surfing immediately.

Mobile broadband or 3G Broadband as it more popularly called; has been gaining popularity nowadays. It is best described as one of the latest innovations in internet technology as one no longer needs a cabled connection to their computers just to get online. And nowadays, the “dongle” has become the most popular item as it is simple, compact and easy to use; one simply needs a service SIM card to connect. As it is portable, one can bring it anywhere they are; whether they are inside the comforts of their bedrooms, the garden or even in public places where they have the need to connect.

While there are a lot of service providers in the market, T-mobile Broadband is among the top choices as it offers a fair usage policy which people are more inclined to. People have also learned to trust the provider as it has been known to deliver good service over the years.

T-mobile Broadband has and advertised speed of up to 4.5 Mb and has marked a record of 2 Mb per second or more. Though most would easily believe that when a provider states that this is the speed they will be entitled to, people would no longer consider the factors which affect it. When a large volume of people are logged in and are using the same signal source, chances are, the speed will decrease. And when only few people in a particular area is sharing the signal, the speed will be faster. This is no longer the provider’s fault and one should always keep this in mind.

Another feature to this provider is that it also offers free access to WiFi hotspots which people on the go would definitely appreciate. So, should one happen to need to check or send mail, so some research or perhaps to simply pass the time and per chance is at a coffee shop, mall, train station or airport; they can easily do so as long as the place they are in has WiFi. And these features offered for this service is for both prepaid or pay as you go offers and post paid subscriptions as well; this is a favorable feature as people can have the flexibility of choosing which plan would best fit them.

The monthly plans offer a number of great deals download size plans for subscribers to choose from; they also offer laptop deals which also have an 18 to 24 month lock-in contract. Instead of a strict download limit policy, T-mobile Broadband runs on the fair usage policy which means that should a subscriber exceed their specified amount of download allowance, they will not incur any run-on penalties which would practically pile up on the monthly charges.

One can have the peace of mind to continue using the service without being overly precautious to the penalties they might incur as there are none. One would also no longer need to be forced to upgrade their service especially if they are merely using it sporadically and have gone over their download allowance limit only once or twice.

Three Broadband also known as 3 broadband is one of the competing broadband providers in the market nowadays. As USB Broadband Dongles have become a trend especially for people constantly on the go or people who do not own a land line or home phone but wishes to gain internet access. It is quite the best idea there ever was, the USB dongle does not have any cable connections, no wires and no fuss. They need not be in a fixed area, one can bring it anywhere and simply plug it in their laptops and start surfing. All one needs is a functional provider’s SIM card to put in to the dongle which 3 Broadband offers. Their USB Broadband Modem Dongles come in different designs subscribers can choose from to best fit their style.

The advertised speed rate is at 3.6 Mb per second; though it may sound a bit slower than the competition, it has been found that this provider is among those who have consistent speed rates. This provider offers services for both the top-up and go or the prepaid deals which does not entail one to sign a contract for a specific lock-in period; this allows the subscribers to manage their consumption based on their budgets or the amount of data allowance they need. They also offer monthly or post aid subscriptions which vary in the amount of downloadable data allowance limit which varies from 1 GB to about 15 GB.

They also offer laptop deals which are tied to their monthly plans. Though there may be the question of how to tell which data allowance would best fit a person’s needs; there is an easy way to determine these figures, though it is only based on estimates. A 1 GB limit will allow a person to send and receive about one thousand regular emails, download five 4 minute videos or thirty two four minute music tracks or simply surf the web for ten hours.

3 GB download access limit will enable someone to surf the web for thirty hours, download 15 four minute videos, send and receive three thousand regular emails or download ninety six four minute songs. A 5 GB data download allowance will give one access to download one hundred and sixty 4 minute music tracks, download twenty five 4 minute videos, surf the web for fifty hours or to send and receive up to five thousand regular emails.

Downloading two hundred twenty four 4 minute music tracks, seventy hours worth of web surfing, thirty five 4 minute video downloads or sending and receiving up to seven thousand regular emails is what one will get from a 7 GB download access limit. And the 15 GB downloadable data allowance limit will give one access to download seventy five 4 minute videos, one hundred and fifty hours worth of internet surfing, sending and receiving up to fifteen thousand regular emails or to download four hundred and eighty 4 minute music tracks.

The abovementioned estimations should easily give one an idea as to how much they would probably need in a month. Though it must be remembered that there are some web applications which automatically does some software downloads without notification which will in fact take up some of the GB allowance.
