Mobile Broadband Uk

I’ve been working with mobile broadband for a few years now, and quite frankly it scares me how easy it has made my life.  If i didn’t have it now i would go bankrupt!  This is certainly something i need to think about a little more seriously, but for now i’ll get by i suppose.  Having a wireless internet connection is essential to me because i travel with work and constantly need to be online in order to get advice on this and that…

I am an engineer of heating equipment, and i travel all over the world fixing very big heating appliances etc.  It’s a pretty dull job, and i don’t really know what i’m doing, but it’s all there on one of those massive question and answer databases that diagnose and repair machinery.  All they need me for is to basically turn on my wireless internet connection and type in the problem.  Then the database will consider all the variables and tell me what to do.  The only reason the company hire me to go along with my laptop and toolbox is so that they can charge their customers a great big fee for labour; in reality anyone could consult this online database and fix their own machinery.  It’s quite sad really.  It works on the same principal as those little cards you can sometimes see at the fast food places that tell the staff to: smile, take order, smile, give change, smile etc.

But i suppose if it wasn’t for my wireless internet connection i’d be without this job, and i’d see a lot less of the world than what i do now.  How the world has evolved into a strange place.
