BT compete with Virgin to expand mobile broadband fibreoptics

May 6th, 2010

BT are set to expand their fibre optic network even further to get the world online and mobile.  Their enabling of the mobile broadband generation, like Virgin, will revolutionise the mobile broadband world and bring about a whole new era in communications technology…

The UK thought that BT were being optimistic when they claimed that they would be able to bring mobile broadband via their fibre optic network, to around 40% of UK homes by 2013.  Well the shock isn’t over folks, because now they estimate being able to bring it to 66% of homes.

BT really must have rolled their sleeves up to get this one going.  We’re all usually waiting forever for them to answer the phone in the event of a fault.  Perhaps that’s why they are taking all this time and money to enable super fast broadband and deliver it to our homes, just so there can be no reason for us to complain.  A word to the wise BT, we are British and we will complain about pretty much anything; in fact i think that i could complain about having too much of a good thing if i thought about it long enough.

The thing about this is still whether BT will be able to keep its prices reasonable.  When they’ve spent so much money on their upgrading they may need to recuperate it from the customer; let’s hope not!
