Broadband Lesson
December 11th, 2009Mobile broadband can help you advance your information technology skills simply by enabling you to do it where you want. This has been the case for my wife, and ordinarily terrible person with technology, and she has advanced quicker in six months than i did in years before mobile broadband was available…
This, i can only reasonably conclude, must be because i never had the opportunies to learn computer and research skills that my wife now has access to. I had to do all my computer activities in the lounge when i was a kid, and it wasn’t the most popular thing to be doing when my mother’s favourite soap operas came on the TV set. Despite all that, mobile broadband didn’t even exist then (or at least for regular people like us).
My wife was never interested in computers when she was a youngster so she couldn’t really comment on how things have changed, but she is happy to take full advantage of what wireless internet can do for her today. Now i always see her with her laptop in the most bizarre of places. Her wireless broadband connection has enabled her to chat to her friends online while she sits on the toilet of all places. She does our shopping from Tesco in the garden, when the weather is good, and she was even in the attic the other day, shopping for Christmas decorations! In fact, since my wife found mobile broadband, i don’t get much attention anymore; perhaps i should take her back to the 1980s when times were much harder!
